In December we had the pleasure of hosting a reception to celebrate two years of the Institute for the Impact of Faith in Life. It was a chance for us to thank the individuals and organisations who have supported us in the last two years, as well as connect with individuals who share our mission to promote the positive impact of faith in life in the UK and beyond.
We are proud of what we have achieved so far – publishing landmark research, hosting both in-person and online events, and securing coverage of our work in national media outlets including The Times and The Guardian.
In 2025 we published five reports looking at the relationship between faith and topics like wellbeing and sustainability, as well as faith changes and the diversity of British Muslims. We held events themed around health and social care, the cost of living, the leadership of women in the church, and the global Muslim community and sustainability. We also launched the denominational dive-in series, where we interviewed different faith communities within Christianity and Islam about their experiences and how faith impacts their life.
At the beginning of 2025, we narrowed our focus to explore in greater depth the two largest faith groups in the UK and the world – Christianity and Islam. While we continued to engage with other faiths, this refined focus enabled IIFL to explore these two religions more deeply and with greater clarity.
We are pleased to announce that in 2026 we will be expanding our focus to the Abrahamic faiths. We will continue to explore Islam and Christianity, but we will also dive deeper into Judaism in Britain through our reports, events and digital content.
Like in 2025, this focus does not mean we will stop engagement with Hindus, Sikhs and other non-Abrahamic faiths – it simply means that, compared to last year, there will be a greater focus on Judaism alongside Chrisitanity and Islam, whilst still featuring different faiths in our work.
We look forward to what 2026 will bring, and wish to say thank you once again to all those who read and share IIFL’s work, and support our mission to study the impact of faith in life.
