Living as a Christian in modern Britain (October 2024)

Tuesday 15th October 2024, 7pm BST
(Online)

There is a high level of cultural Christianity in Britain. But is there a crisis of confidence amongst Christians? Or do young people offer a chance for the faith’s revival?

About

In the spirit of our belief that it is better to talk to, not about, faith communities, it is important to ask Christians directly what their experiences of living in Britain are.

We asked our panel of Christians from across Britain to share their stories of living in Britain and discuss the opportunities and challenges in 2024.

Evie-Mae Jaggard

Catholicism

Evie grew up as a working-class atheist. She graduated from Philosophy in 2018 and received a Master’s in History in 2020. At 27, she now works as an IT Consultant. Until her early 20s, she openly disavowed ‘religion’ and ‘faith’ and was a self-described nihilist. These convictions unravelled when she explored spirituality after University and began finding value in the performance of and participation in faith. She converted to Catholicism at Easter in 2023 at St Mary’s Parish, Birmingham.
